Before installing...


Before attempting to install mobile protection, please make sure you have done the following depending on how you set up your Winston hardware: 



If your Winston is installed between a standalone modem and router…


If your Winston is NOT installed between a standalone modem and router…


  1. Make sure you are on your Winston’s wifi network

  2. You have the Winston mobile app installed on your iPhone or Android phone


This likely means you installed Winston with a combination modem/router provided by your internet provider or directly behind your router (no cable is connected to your Winston’s LAN/OUT port)


  1. Make sure you are on your Winston’s wifi network

  2. Important: Forward ports 500 and 4500 (UDP) on your combination modem/router (or router) to Winston. For more information please visit our mobile protection troubleshooting guide here

  3. You have the Winston mobile app installed on your iPhone or Android phone
